Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarships
The SME Education Foundation is a national scholarship program for students pursuing degrees in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related STEM Field. They award nearly $1 million in scholarships every year.
What’s great about their program is that students only need to fill out one application to be considered for all scholarships they offer.
Only 5% of our applicants are interested in attending a Community College and SME wants to increase this number and reach more students interested in 2-year programs who can benefit from their program. Scholarship applications are accepted annually from November 1 – February 1. By submitting one application, you will be considered for every scholarship for which you are eligible. Awards range from $2,500 – $20,000.
They also recently launched a need-based renewable scholarship program for graduating high school seniors who are Pell Grant Eligible. These scholarships are open to students planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year program and they provide mentorship opportunities for all recipients of need-based renewable scholarships. They are also looking to drastically get more applications from need-based students, don’t miss this opportunity and apply today!
For more than 40 years, the SME Education Foundation has been a leader in supporting the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent. With more than 60 distinct scholarship programs, the Foundation provides merit and need-based scholarships, issues renewing and one-time awards, and seeks applications from all eligible students, including but not limited to young women and underrepresented communities. The Foundation has awarded 18 million to over 5,000 future industry leaders since 2005 and awards nearly a million dollars in scholarships each year.
HCC Foundation Scholarships
A wide variety of scholarships are available to Houston Community College students through the HCC Foundation. Most of the scholarships offered by HCC Foundation require that the student be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at HCC per semester; some require enrollment in 9 or 12 credit hours per semester with a minimum GPA range of 2.0 to 2.5 or possibly higher. Applicants are considered for every scholarship for which they appear eligible. In addition, some scholarships have other specific requirements as well. Applications are available and accepted from January 15 through June 15. For more information, visit IOScholarships.
